Why Bill has their vote
Displays why others are voting for Bill Richardson. These are randomly selected.
He's the only viable candidate with actual governing experience who has advocated for a complete withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq. He knows what to do with energy, health care, and he has the correct view on a minimum wage for teachers. He is also on the forefront with immigration. As a border governor, he has extensive experience in dealing with illegal immigrants.
Experience and easy going, but stays professional.
Richardson has the broadest level of experience for the job. He knows how to get things done. It's too bad he doesn't have a snowball's chance.
Governor Richardson is a moderate Democrat, endorsed by the NRA, and opposed to gay marriage. He has led a rural state (New Mexico) out of the dark, and has hands on experience with border security (being from a border state). Not only does he have executive experience, but he also has experience in nearly any governmental field, from UN Ambassador to Congressman to Energy Secretary.
To restore America's reputation which has been ruined these past eight years, vote for Bill Richardson.
He has foreign and domestic experience. He has successfully negotiated where many others failed before him. He has solved domestic problems in his state that the rest of the country is still struggling with. He has the knowledge, skills, foresight, and humility to bring our country back to what it once was. And did I mention his amazing experience at individually handling all the aspects that a President must handle?
He's the only person in the election who is even remotely qualified in terms of experience and his positions.
Experience!
Richardson is clearly the most qualified candidate on the ballot for either party. He has proven as Governor of New Mexico that he can cut spending and reduce waste while still building essential programs (e.g. education), and as a diplomat and UN ambassador that he can accomplish our foreign policy objectives by working with other countries (compare the success in Kosovo to this mess in Iraq). I think his plan for engaging Iraq's neighbors and assembling a multinational, mostly Muslim force to keep peace in the country instead of keeping US troops there is probably the only solution that has a decent chance of working. He is also probably the only one who could pull it off diplomatically. Richardson has a solid commitment to the egalitarian values of the Democratic Party, but he is adept at reaching out to Republicans; in 2004, New Mexico voted for George Bush in the electoral college, but 69% voted to reelect Richardson as governor. We need a candidate who can successfully pursue solid, rational policies and unite the country during this critical time. That candidate is Bill Richardson.
Richardson is the most progressive candidate who wants to truly end the war by bringing ALL our troops out of Iraq within a year; scrap No Child Left Behind instead of trying to fix a broken program; give veterans a Heroes Health Card so they can be treated at ANY hospital instead of traveling 160+ miles to the closest VA.
Richardson is the only candidate who's actively fought global warming by making New Mexico the "Clean Energy State," already creating 1000s of those new jobs that others promise will come when we start supporting the renewables industry. He & Schwarzenegger founded the Western Governors coalition to get the western states to follow Kyoto Protocol, while the other candidates were passing an ineffectual energy bill gutted by the oil companies.
Richardson is the only candidate who has already successfully negotiated face-to-face with foreign leaders and dictators (including Saddam, Fidel, the North Koreans, Pres. Al-Bashir of Sudan). Nobody else has proven their talent at foreign diplomacy, and this will be key to restoring US position on the world stage that has been damaged by Bush.
Bill Richardson is a leader in diplomacy and international relations. His track record speaks volumes, and he represents diversity.
experience, good record especially on foreign policy, moderation, not as polarizing as other candidates so i think he can get things done and bring people together, very popular in his own state (a swing state), governor (dem governors are the only ones to win in the past 30? years), good strong stance and agenda for ALL the big issues (there are much bigger issues than gun control to me than that), sense of humor.
He's not just the pretty face, but he's got more experience in real-world situations than anyone else on the Democratic side. I think his Iraq policy is a little off, but everything else he's pretty much on point.
Bill Richardson is a man who gets good things done...especially when no one else seems to be able to.
why not???
He is a man of action who has the credentials and the ability to be President.
Bill Richardson is by far the most qualified person for the presidency, it's really unfortunate so few people know him.
He has a lot of foreign policy experience and I think he's the most qualified candidate.
Most experienced candidate.
*His plan to de-authorize the war and withdraw ALL troops in six months, and redirecting these funds toward what matters most for Americans: improving education, expanding access to quality health care, and addressing the REAL security threats like the Taliban, nuclear proliferation, and global warming.
*Create global energy independence plan.
*Scrap no child left behind and work on better supporting the schools in need and raising teachers salaries.
*Has a goal for affordable and secure health insurance for every American.
*He supports domestic partnerships and signed into law the state's first hate crimes legislation for acts including those based on sexual orientation, and provided state health insurance for domestic partnerships.
*committed to implementing comprehensive reforms that secure our borders and our ports and provide for an effective and humane immigration policy
*He wants America to work together and all be part of the solutions for our nations problems.
***It is not about who has the most money or who is the most popular.
He is the candidate with the best credentials, and the majority of his ideas are grounded in reality. He's not some poseur striving to seem needlessly macho; he's just a good, solid candidate with a view for our country.
he has the best experience and most ability to lead our country in its crucial time of need.
He's the best. He has the most experience overall, far above any of the other candidates. (Ahem, for all you hilary fans, being first lady does not count as experience!). He has uber experience in negotiating with foreign leaders, something America really needs right now. He'll do the best job. He's won several NOBEL PEACE PRIZES. He has Washington experience. He is in it for the right reasons.
He's strong on civil liberties, understands what the United Nations is and what it is not, supports private gun ownership, and as the icing on the cake, supports the Mexican gray wolf recovery program. These happen to be topics dear to my heart.
The rest are dirty Commies
Richardson has had virtually every type of political experience possible, and is clearly the most qualified candidate running on either side. I think there are a lot of great democratic candidates, but I think that Richardson is easily the BEST.
