Strike Two for Don Imus
24-Jun-2008

Another racial remark jeopardized Imus’s radio show.
Don Imus, radio talk show host of Imus in the Morning, may have just blown his second chance.
His show was once a hot spot for political thought. Big names in politics once frequented his radio show, such as Chris Dodd, Joe Lieberman, and John Kerry. However, this all came to a screeching halt when Imus made an offensive racial comment about the Rutgers University women's basketball team, calling them "nappy-headed hos." His racist and sexist remarks led him to radio exile.
Back in December, Imus came back to the radio, but he doesn't seem to have learned his lesson. Today, on his morning show, the banter revolved around professional football player Adam "Pacman" Jones. Jones, who has recently requested to not be referred to by his nickname any longer, has been reinstated by the NFL after a suspension due to several run-ins with the law. While discussing this, Imus asked, "What color is he?" Upon receiving the answer that Jones is African-American, Imus responded, "Well, there you go."
Okay, seriously, has he learned nothing? Logic says he would be more careful with what he says after the last incident, but apparently not. This is definitely strike two for Imus. At this rate, Imus will never again reach the glory of his former show.
